Few words about the movie...

This film is set in the world of free diving, a very dangerous, spirtual sport. The film plays like a sport/buddy movie with a little romance to boot. At its core the film looks at what it means to be human, and what our place is in the world.
The main charecter strugles to fit in on the surface and ultimatelfinds his place in a very haunting final scene that will leave you thinking for hours after the film is over.
I can say that this is one of my my favorites movies.

Visit the sights that the movie was filmed and discover why
Luc Beson fell in love with Amorgos & decided to shoot a great deal of the movie on the island.
Chora, Agia Anna & the Shipwreck which are the main sights that the story takes place are by far not by chance selected.
Chora , the Capital of Amorgos is the most architecturally
preserved town of the Cyclades with the tremendous amount of 45 Churches creating a mystic feeling to the wonderer.
Agia Anna is the location exactly beneath the 1000 years
old monastery of Virgin Mary "Chozoviotissa". It is obvious at first sight that the color of the waters where responsible for the title of the movie. Agia Anna except of its deep blue colors also has pretty deep waters; in fact it is one of the deepest points of the Mediterranean Sea.
The shipwreck on the South part of Amorgos on port Liveros has a story that definitely inspires. It’s a story that took place during the midds of the past century. The old Amorgians say that it used to carry illegal cargo. In order to escape from the authorities they purposely threw the ship on the rocks and abandoned the ship. A unique swimming experience for the visitor who would like to see it for himself!
